Eero Pro 6 Review Does This Mesh Router Deliver As Advertised

Whereas the Eero 6 is an entry-level Wi-Fi 6 system that has struggled with reviews, the Eero Pro 6 is a higher-end design that offers faster speeds and improved results. The “Pro” key feature is the triband design, which gives the mesh an extra 5GHz band for dedicated system transmissions. This frees up the first 5GHz band for your usual traffic and makes a noticeable effect on your network performance—and it lets a mesh system like this make good use of Wi-Fi 6.

Eero Pro 6 Review: Effortlessly Fast Speeds

Pro 6 is Eero’s more expensive and faster router. After all, it has Pro in its name and reflects the brand’s latest flagship product. And it’s not only supplying you with more reliable hardware, it’s even making its way to the connected devices.

Each Eero Pro 6 is the main router, with two Ethernet ports for convenient hardware connection.

There is a tri-band configuration within the Pro 6: a single 2.4 GHz band and two 5 GHz bands. Essentially, there’s more space for linking devices and more capacity. This, combined with Wi-Fi 6, will make Eeros work some magic for the proper allocation of resources and ensuring a stable connection for up to 100 connected devices. If you live in a smart house with a lot of connected gadgets, the Pro 6 makes the most sense.

Eero Pro 6 Review: Software and Setup

The setup procedure for the Eero Pro 6 is identical to every other Wi-Fi system. If you don’t already have a different router for your modem, you’ll need to put your modem in bridge mode first. The exact procedure for this can vary depending on your modem and ISP.

With everything plugged in and powered on, you can install the Eero app and follow the online account prompts that are used to check on your network when you’re away from home. The Eero app is quick to launch, works fine, and is structured into easy-to-understand pieces.

It’s worth noting that the Eero 6 does not have a web-based control panel for modifying settings, so everything has to be handled via the mobile app.

Eero Pro 6 Review: Should You Buy It?

Yes.  If you can justify the high price, the Eero Pro 6 is an excellent Wi-Fi mesh solution that we have absolutely no doubts about endorsing. The setup process is extremely quick, the mobile app works perfectly, and tri-band coverage ensures that every corner of my home is reached by super-fast internet. Wi-Fi 6 compatibility is also nice to have, but unless you upgrade your gadgets on a regular basis, you probably won’t get any use of it for a few years to come.

If you’re not concerned with losing speed at secondary stations, the non-Pro Eero 6 is also a reasonable choice. The rest of the hardware and software is the same, but the 3-pack just costs $279, compared to $599 for the Pro. You still get the fantastic management app, Wi-Fi 6 support, and the Zigbee smart hub features.
